In her new film Barbara Marx Hubbard, author and producer of 'Visions of a Universal Humanity,' eloquently states that “hidden beneath the breakdowns of modern society are breakthroughs that herald a radically new human condition. While most of these breakthroughs are small, yet vital incremental changes, others are clearly significant new capacities that can fundamentally change our lives forever." Hubbard and many other futurists believe that we are beginning to break through into positive new potentials, and that we are finally entering the destiny we are meant to evolve into.
We are evolving into what Ms. Hubbard would call Universal Humans, and what I would call Holistic Humans who know and live by the truth that we are all interconnected; that we are unique individuals who are one with all life: Individual yet Indivisible. Yet, this evolution is not happening easily or effortlessly, or without choice and use of our free will. Ms. Hubbard also reminds us that the difference between our evolution now and in the past is that now we are evolving consciously. This means that we are evolving knowingly; that our choices and free will are affecting our evolutionary direction, thus evolving evolution itself.
This new year of 2010 is more than just the beginning of a new cycle of the earth around the sun. It’s the beginning of a new decade that will be known in years to come as the teens of the 21st century, and it is the beginning of something far more than that….The predictions range from the beginnings of a cycle of complete disaster and apocalypse to a green utopian paradise of spiritually awakened humans, and everything in between. The vast diversity of ideas and beliefs about this breakthrough period in human history begs us to ask again the age-old questions being explored by seekers of all beliefs today, and even appearing in popular new television shows like Flash Forward: What is free will and what is pre-destiny? AND, can free will change the things that appear to be pre-destined?
If scientists are correct, and our actions in this world are evolving evolution itself, then we may have our first “proof” that pre-destiny (or universal intelligence) and free will co-exist and co-create with each other simultaneously. What we may have been failing to see is this: how we see reality, what we think, feel, and believe does more than shape our personal perception; it actually shapes the energy fields of the world around us, thus co-creating our collective version of reality and affecting the direction of evolution itself.
Perhaps 2010 can be the year we breakthrough the cocoon that has veiled us for so long from seeing the co-creators we really are. Destiny has already pre-determined that evolution will happen, and that is something we can not change. But we do have the power to effect change through our free will. Will this be the year we Breakdown or Breakthough? Will we descend into fear and survivalism, or rise to the call of our higher nature? The choice is ours. What will your 2010 choice be?
